Just some of the tools that I find make my life slightly useful and help me stay productive.

Here are some of the tools that I use on a daily basis. I’m always looking for new tools to try out, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Workstation

  • 14” MacBook Pro, M1 Pro, (2021)

I was a long time Macbook user before breaking the ecosystem trap and going to windows. What a mistake that was, back on Mac with Apple Silicon Chips and lifes never been better.

  • 2x 24” Dell Monitors.

I would invest in higher definition, but haven’t found the need to just yet. Perhaps when I need to get on the editing desk.

  • 12.9” iPad Pro

Nothing better for taking notes, sketching ideas, creating svgs and editing photos on the run. Also serves as the ideal second monitor when you want to develop on the go.

  • Logitec mx2 wheel mouse.

Need I say more, best mouse on the market. Scolling through PR’s never felt so good.

Development

  • Microsoft VScode

Trusty, reliable, and I believe I have the eprfect balance of plugins to boost my efficiency. Particularly love the Liveshare plugins, which is great when helping your coworkers.

  • ReactJS

Whilst this isn’t totally a tool, I have to mention it. I love building with React, it’s the perfect balance of power and simplicity.

  • GraphQL

Nothing better than having the flexibility in the frontend as and when you need it. Nothing satisfies me more than having only the exact data that I need fromt he server, when I need it.

  • TailwindCSS

It’s simply the best way to style your application. Yeah you code looks SLIGHTLY less clean, but you exactly what styles are affecting exactly what element.

  • Shad/cn

Not a component library, but rather your own components, in which you are fully in control of. I love the flexibility of this library.

  • Tanstack

Everything you need when it comes to request handling, caching and frontend state management. I love the simplicity of this library. Completely removed the need to redux in multiple instances.

Design

  • Figma

I have used Adobe XD in the past, but Figma is just so much more powerful, modern, and easy to use.The Figma community is also just incredible.

  • Adobe Fresco

Drawing on the iPad is awesome and the fact that in Fresco, you can draw directly with a vector brush and directly send it to Illustrator is an easy sell for me.
